Overview

  • PMAY-U 2.0 launched in September 2024 with a target of 1 crore urban houses over 5 years.
  • Four verticals: Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC), Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), Affordable Rental Housing (ARH), Interest Subsidy Scheme (ISS).
  • PMAY-Gramin provides ₹1.20 lakh (plain areas) / ₹1.30 lakh (hilly/difficult areas) per house.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Family should not own a pucca house anywhere in India
  • Annual family income: EWS up to ₹3 lakh, LIG ₹3–6 lakh, MIG ₹6–9 lakh (PMAY-U 2.0)
  • Family includes husband, wife and unmarried children
  • For PMAY-G: should appear in SECC 2011 deprivation list
  • Should not have availed any central housing scheme earlier

How to Apply

  1. 1Visit pmaymis.gov.in (Urban) or pmayg.nic.in (Gramin)
  2. 2Click on 'Citizen Assessment' → choose applicable category
  3. 3Enter Aadhaar, verify and fill personal, income and bank details
  4. 4Submit and note down the application reference number
  5. 5Application is verified by ULB / Gram Panchayat
  6. 6Subsidy or assistance credited to bank account on approval

Important Dates

PMAY-U 2.0 open till 2029. Applications accepted continuously through ULBs and CSCs.
