Overview
- ✦Launched in February 2019, PM Kisan is one of the largest direct income support schemes in the world.
- ✦All landholding farmer families with cultivable land are eligible, subject to exclusion criteria.
- ✦Funds are transferred via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) using Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.
Eligibility Criteria
- ✦Must be an Indian citizen and a landholding farmer family
- ✦Must own cultivable agricultural land (as per state land records)
- ✦Aadhaar card mandatory and linked with bank account
- ✦Excluded: institutional landholders, constitutional post holders, serving/retired Group A/B officers, income tax payers, professionals like doctors/CAs/engineers
- ✦Excluded: pensioners with monthly pension ≥ ₹10,000 (except Multi Tasking Staff)

How to Apply
- 1Visit the official portal: pmkisan.gov.in
- 2Click on 'New Farmer Registration' under Farmers Corner
- 3Choose Rural Farmer or Urban Farmer Registration
- 4Enter Aadhaar number, mobile number and state — verify with OTP
- 5Fill personal details, bank details and land ownership details
- 6Upload required documents and submit the form
- 7Note down the registration number for tracking status
- 8Complete e-KYC at pmkisan.gov.in or nearest CSC centre
