What is it?

The Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) is administered by the Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) under the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence. It provides scholarships to wards and widows of ex-servicemen, ex-coast guard personnel, and certain police personnel for professional and technical degree courses including B.Tech, MBBS, BBA, BCA, B.Pharma, MBA and equivalent.

Benefits

Boys: ₹2,500 per month (₹30,000 per year). Girls: ₹3,000 per month (₹36,000 per year). Paid annually up to the duration of the course (typically 1 to 5 years). 5,500 scholarships are awarded each year — 2,750 for boys and 2,750 for girls.
